Magaldi Green Energy
Service Provider
Solutions: Solar Thermal, Thermal Storage
Geographic Scope: Worldwide
magaldi logo

Description

Magaldi Green Energy develops innovative technologies for thermal energy storage. It is part of the Magaldi Group, which was founded in Italy in 1929 and is a leader in providing customized solutions for conveying materials at extremely high temperatures (over 1000°C) and under severe process conditions. With more than 1,200 installations worldwide and 55 patents for proprietary technologies, Magaldi continues to drive industry innovation.

MGTES is an Electro Thermal Energy Storage system designed to support the decarbonization of industrial processes and power systems to advance sustainable development. The system charges with electricity from renewable sources or directly from the grid, storing energy for hours or even days as sensible heat in a fluidized sand bed and discharging it as fully dispatchable steam.

MGTES allows for simultaneous or independent electrical charging and steam generation, enabling price arbitrage across energy sources. As a result, the system not only reduces reliance on fossil fuels but also optimizes heat generation costs.

Temperature Range: MGTES provides steam in between 150 °C and 450 °C.
