Renewable Thermal Collaborative Welcomes Five New Members and Sponsors in First Quarter of 2023

Bristol Meyers Squibb, Sanofi, DCO Energy, Ambient Fuels, and Electrified Thermal Solutions Committed to Decarbonizing Thermal Energy Use to Help Reach Climate Goals

Washington, D.C. – The Renewable Thermal Collaborative (RTC) today announced Bristol Meyers Squibb and Sanofi as new members and DCO Energy, Ambient Fuels, and Electrified Thermal Solutions as new sponsors. The RTC is the only global coalition focused exclusively on the decarbonization of thermal energy with a focus on renewable heating and cooling technologies.

With the addition of these companies, the RTC includes 32 member companies and 38 sponsors in the US and around the world. Members include global industrial and institutional energy buyers representing approximately $3 trillion in market capitalization across a diverse range of industries. Sponsors represent a multitude of technology and solutions providers, advisors, developers, and NGOs working to accelerate the renewable thermal market.

“Decarbonizing the industrial sector is a complex problem of technology, policy, and markets – there is no one technology that is going to solve the problems,” said Blaine Collison, RTC Executive Director. “The RTC is the only place where large thermal energy users come together collaboratively to understand the problems in the market, learn from each other, and overcome the barriers to renewable heating and cooling. I am thrilled to welcome these new companies into the Collaborative as their expertise and skill sets will help us collectively accelerate real decarbonization.”

About the Companies

Bristol Meyers Squibb, a global pharmaceutical company, is focused on discovering, developing, and delivering innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases.

Sanofi, a global healthcare company, is dedicated to chasing the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. Their determination to find answers for patients motivates them to develop breakthrough medicines and vaccines.

DCO Energy, an independent energy development company, specializes in the development, engineering, construction, start-up, commissioning, operation, maintenance, management, and ownership of central energy centers, renewable energy projects and combined heat, chilling, and power production facilities.

Ambient Fuels, a pioneering green hydrogen developer, is guiding heavy industry through the great green upgrade. They deliver custom-engineered green hydrogen solutions and oversee every step of execution from project development and design to financing and construction.

Electrified Thermal Solutions, a provider of on-demand renewable heat for industry, is building the Joule Hive™ thermal battery, an electrically heated firebrick system that turns intermittent renewable electricity into on-demand, flame-temperature heat. They are on a mission to replace fossil fuels with renewable heat in every furnace, turbine, boiler, and kiln to decarbonize industry by 2050.

About the Renewable Thermal Collaborative

The Renewable Thermal Collaborative (RTC) is a global coalition of companies, institutions, and governments committed to decarbonizing their operations by scaling up renewable heating and cooling technologies at their facilities. The RTC collaborates with its members and sponsors to accelerate industrial decarbonization by addressing and identifying ways to overcome the technology, policy, and market challenges that large thermal energy users face.
