The Clean Hydrogen Manufacturing and Recycling program was introduced in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) of 2021. The program is designed to provide $500 million in federal financial assistance to advance new clean hydrogen production, processing, delivery, storage, and use. These funds can be used to increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the recovery of raw materials from clean hydrogen technology, to minimize environmental impacts from the disposal and recovery process, and for research and development that further commercializes the technologies and processes of manufacturing and recycling of equipment.
