The West Virginia Public Building Green Building Standards require new public building construction projects and buildings receiving state funding or appropriations to be designed and constructed in accordance with the ICC International Energy Conservation Code and the ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007. However, if a buildings project is also receiving federal funds, the standards only apply if not in conflict with federal standards.
