Sales and use tax exemption for anaerobic digesters and equipment used to process biogas from landfills and anaerobic digesters

In Washington, farmers and businesses can apply to have any expenses related to anaerobic digesters or the processing of biogas and landfill gas exempt from sales and use taxes. To apply, businesses buying products or services related to an anaerobic digester must file with their sellers a Farmers’ Certificate for Wholesale Purchases or a Sales Tax Exemptions or a Buyers’ Retail Sales Tax Exemption Certificate.
