This program, administered by the State Energy Conservation Office, seeks to distribute grant money for the demonstration of sustainable and innovative utilization of energy resources, including clean coal, gasification projects for coal and biomass mixtures, wind, solar photovoltaic, and other solar applications. Grants may also be used for “other appropriate low-emission, renewable, and sustainable energy applications.” The State Energy Conservation Office may require grant recipients to match a portion of the funds awarded.
