HB 2021 created a $50 million fund at the Oregon Department of Energy to provide grants for the development of community renewable energy projects. Eligible “renewable energy systems” include those that use biomass, solar, geothermal, or biogas to generate energy as well as energy storage systems. Specifics about the type of award and percent of project costs covered can be found on the website. Only tribes, public bodies, and consumer-owned utilities can qualify for this program.
