Commission Investigation of Energy Storage

The Public Utilities Commission approved an investigation into ways to enable energy storage projects to receive compensation for avoided transmission and distribution costs, while also participating in wholesale energy markets. The Commission will consider public policy’s role in establishing accurate price signals, costs and benefits, and statutory changes needed to encourage investments in energy storage projects.
