The Biorefinery, Renewable Chemical, and Biobased Product Manufacturing Assistance Program provides loan guarantees up to $250 million to assist in the development, construction, and retrofitting of new and emerging technologies. This program is overseen by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). The total amount of federal participation must not exceed 80% of total costs. In order to apply as a lender on behalf of a borrower, the organization must meet the FDIC definition of “well capitalized” and have lending authority. Borrowers may include individuals, public and private entities, governments, corporations, tribes, and others. Eligible renewable thermal technologies include advanced biofuels (biomass, biogas, landfill gas) and biobased products. The current application window closes on October 3, 2023.
