The Industrial Efficiency & Decarbonization Office (IEDO), within the Department of Energy (DOE), has Technical Assistance and Workforce Development partnerships, intended to increase the adoption of energy-efficient practices, decarbonization technologies, energy management programs, and water and waste reduction strategies across the industrial sector. IEDO supports industry stakeholders through tools and resources, connections with experts at DOE’s national labs, and provides other trainings and advisings at no cost. Better Plant partners have saved more than $10.6 billion at over 3,600 facilities. Eligible renewable thermal technologies include any project or technologies that encourage more efficient energy, water, and other resource management; these may include solar thermal, geothermal, biomass, biogas, landfill gas, green hydrogen, and renewable natural gas.
