The Geothermal Technologies Office’s (GTO) Data, Modeling, and Analysis (DMA) program, within the Department of Energy (DOE), supports data compilation and collection needs of various stakeholders relating to geothermal energy. The information they provide, such as resource assessments and drilling costs, is vital to addressing barriers to geothermal implementation. The data obtained from all projects is uploaded to the Geothermal Data Repository. The DMA program conducts outreach work with local stakeholders, focused on the energy needs of communities, geothermal’s applicability to these needs, and potential federal funding mechanisms that might assist in developing these resources.
