This 2022 Executive Order (D 2022 016, “Amending and Restating Executive Order D 2019 016 Concerning the Greening of State Government”) signed by Governor Jared Polis sets energy standards for public buildings in Colorado to meet the state’s goals toward renewable energy and reducing GHG emissions. It requires that all executive state agencies and departments ensure that at least 7% of electricity consumed is renewable by the end of FY 2024-2025. It further directs agencies and departments to identify and evaluate cost-effective heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, prioritizing those that use geothermal.
