We have developed high-temperature heat pump cycles that can deliver heat at temperatures over 300°C while using low (ambient) temperature heat sources. In addition, we can deliver steam at pressures up to 20 bar in a single system, again from ambient temperature heat sources. A unique characteristic of our heat pump cycles is that due to their transcritical design, they integrate well with thermal storage media providing a cost effective means to hedge against time of day electricity price variation.
