Businesses that process forestry industry residues into fuel can claim a $5 credit for every ton of material they process. A multiplier of 4 applies to charcoal. Any excess of credits above the tax liability of a company can be carried over to the following year for up to four years. This credit is available until June 30, 2028 with an annual cap of $6 million in credits annually.
