Idaho wind, solar, and geothermal energy producers, except for those under the regulation of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, are 100% exempt from taxes for their property and fixtures related to renewable energy systems. Instead, these producers pay a tax of 3% of gross energy earnings, except for solar producers which pay 3.5%.
