This bill, known as Senate Bill 22-118 (“Encourage Geothermal Energy Use”), modifies the solar energy statutory provisions so that they also apply to geothermal energy. These provisions include consumer education, limiting government charges and fees for installation, creating community geothermal gardens, specifies that a geothermal energy devices cannot be prohibited in legal instruments related to the transfer or sale of, or interest in, real property, and including geothermal energy as a qualifying resource for greenhouse gas pollution reduction goals.
