California PACE

The California PACE Program allows local governments to establish property assessed clean energy districts. In these districts, property owners can borrow money to finance energy improvements and pay the borrowed money back, typically with property taxes, with a special property assessment. The California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA) supports PACE programs through the PACE Reserve Program and is authorized to issue revenue bonds to support local programs. The California Statewide Communities Development Program (CSCDP) also provides support.
