This group develops case studies, shares best practices, and seeks to catalyze industrial-scale solar thermal deployment.
At the end of 2020, the RTC convened a Solar Thermal Working Group to gather information on the major technical, market, economic, institutional, and policy barriers impeding scaling the development and deployment of solar thermal as well as its potential to deliver cost-effective and sustainable, lower-carbon thermal energy in the short-term (by 2030) and the long-term (2050).
Participants are RTC Members such as commercial buyers and solar thermal developers, as well as government entities.
On May 19, 2021, the RTC released the Solar Thermal Technology Assessment (TA) to provide the substantive basis for the RTC to develop a full solar thermal Technology Action Plan and Partnership (TAPP).
The RTC and associates will be reaching out to commercial buyers and solar thermal developers throughout 2022 to help inform an updated Technology Action Plan and Partnership (TAPP). To learn more please email alyssa@dgardiner.com.
The Solar Thermal Working Group convened several times in late 2020.
