Tax Credits for Clean Energy Property

This tax credit program provides credits against tax imposed for the construction, purchase, or lease of clean energy property placed into service between July 1, 2008, and December 31, 2014, with certain limitations. Section 48-7-29.14 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated defines “clean energy property” as including solar thermal, geothermal, energy efficiency upgrades in buildings, wind equipment, and biomass equipment to convert wood residuals through gasification and pyrolysis. Credits may be used for five years following the beginning of the property’s service.
